Curious about your sit.

So it's all dependent on the time of the year for me. Early and late season I am mostly quiet a grunt or doe bleat here and there. From about mid October through the first week of December I will rattle and use calls more. Usually I use these tools between 0930 and 1500 when the action tends to settle down. What I have learned about rattling is that in my experience 75% of the time they will come in downwind of you. So they may be coming in but if you get winded you are toast. I also do three short sequences of maybe two minutes with each sequence getting a little more aggressive. I usually will do a sequence, about a three minute break and look around and rattle again.

grunt or doe bleat occasionally. Used to rattle a decent amount quit several years ago. Still do it some. Grunts work. Bleats and rattles a lot less of a success rate. Deer make noises most of the time people are close enough to hear them. I've heard 3 different bucks grunt this year. I've been fortunate to see buck fights and reap buck fights are absolutely brutal. Now sparing that light rattling type sound happen a decent amount. For the most part I have a lot of faith in my setups just need time for them to work.

I've only had one nice buck come in to blind calling (maybe he did), so I usually just sit quietly. I will use a grunt call to bring one closer that I see at a distance — have done this a number of times where I can watch him and see how he is reacting. Have also used grunt call to keep one in front of me that shows up before legal and trying to keep him in sight till time. And use grunt call to get them to stop for the shot.

I'm as quiet as possible going into my hunting area and leaving my hunting area and try to do nothing to draw attention to my location. If there were some magic way for me to just float in completely silent and scent free so that no deer ever knew that I was there that would be my preference. Hunting known travel corridors during the rut. Trying to be there at the right time while being as invisible as possible is my goal....not sugesting that rattling and calls dont work...in certain circumstances Im certain they do...I just choose to not draw attention to my location when the thought is that they are hopefully coming through the area anyway.

I sit quiet mostly. I may do a series of doe bleats and grunts once or twice during the hunt but don't like the thought of a big deer circling down wind and not seeing it.

I will bleat and grunt at a deer going the opposite direction. I bleated at 2 of my top 3 scoring deer as they appeared to be walking away. Not sure if that's what worked but both ended up at 40 yds.
I don't like to blind call either. But, have bleated and grunted at several to try and get them closer.
