Do you really need all those Pins??

I will be shooting one pin as well.

Only my sight will only have one pin that's adjustable :) Ordered a HHA 5000 a couple days ago. Will be my first go around with a movable sight. I'll be glad to get away from pins and holding up or down. Just set it to the yardage and aim dead on.

I just ordered a new HHA also. I am pumped about finally getting a LH HHA 5019 ultra ordered. Had a hard time finding anybody to order one for a lefty :)

Have been using an adjustable single pin sight for about 7 years though so it will not take much adjustment from me.

I have one pin that I shoot up to 30yds, another for 40ish...but, I also have a third pin set at 70 yards and I practice the longer shot each time..more for fun than anything.

I got my HHA on Saturday. I too was kinda surprised by the weight of the thing. Its a really small sight, but it feels as heavy as my Hogg It target sight...only one ounce difference between the two. But I have read many stories of folks who have put them through a lot of torture and they still come out working. One guy dropped his from over 20' in a tree and it hit sight first, and didn't hurt it at all.

I wish I would have got the .019 pin though.

For hunting, IMO you are right on.
I dial mine to 25 yds, and adjust it it necessary.
Almost never move it.

I don't know what you have been shooting, but Ithink you are going to like what you are doing.

I have been shooting one pin since arrows were wooden. Takes the guess work out. Stand location is much more important to me than a mess of pins and various yardages. JMO One pin, One shot, One kill.

Been shooting one pin with success for a number of years set at 20 yards. Now that I have a bow that I'm comfortable shooting with at a deer that's over 25 yards, I think I'm gonna give 3 a shot. 20, 30 and 40. I'll let you know in January how it all works out.

hmmm

Well I will tell ya this much.

I've shot pin sights for years and never had a problem with them. I put the HHA single pin on my bow and have been shooting it...decided to put my pin sights back on the bow. And there's where I had a problem...I can't hardly shoot pins anymore. I like having that one pin dialed into exactly where I want it. No holding over/under.

I thought about going to a one pin this year, but the possibility of a deer being at 25 when I draw and 40 when I get a shot talked me back into my numerous (5) pin sight

40 yds. is out of my range for a LIVE target.

One pin........25 yards.

I keep it simple after going through the multi pin thing.

Set 1 pin at 25 yds.
Hunt 1-35 yds with it.

Sure improved my hunting when I began doing this.

I do have to use a rangefinder.
I can't estimate distace, expecially in low light well enough without one.

Maybe I'm the only one alive still using a pendulum! LOL! It's good to 30yds., which is plenty MOST of the time! My last 3 kills have been 5yds., 20yds. and 48 yds.

I have gone to the Trophy Ridge Matrix In Line 5 Pin this year from the same model in a 3 Pin. The design of the in-line pin still gives you almost the same visibility as a one pin set-up. I love it. Sighting in 20, 30, 40, 50, and 60. The 50 and 60 are more for fun but if I get real comfortable with the range I may try to take a deer.

I understand keeping it simple. However, I think youd be suprised at how high that 25 yard pin would hit at 15 yards when shooting from a tree. There is an interesting article on it in a hunting magizine that just came out. Anyone seen it? Ive been setting my first pin for 16-17 yards for a few years now for this reason, and still didnt anticpate the high impact as much as his "evidence" showed.
