Do you really need all those Pins??

1st pin 20yds .29
2nd pin 30yds .19
3rd pin 49yds .19
4th pin 50yds .19
5th pin 60yds .10

I hunt all year for 1 shot.If that buck pops out at 50-60 yards and everythings perfect.I'm going to pop him.Dont get me wrong i dont advocate long shots but thats why i practice them.I try to get as close as i can but sometimes its all or nothing. In 45 years of bow hunting i have had to make shots longer than 40 yards only 3 times. Please Lord all i want is one shot.

I have one pin with an adjustable sight bracket. Out to 30 yards one pin. What most people forget is you are shooting to center the deer's vitals, not trying to strike a match. If the deer is out close to 30 yards, I hold in the upper portion of the body, and if it is in close I hold under the crease that the front leg creates and in the middle range dead on the top of the crease. My largest buck with a bow (is in the pope & young record book) I killed him at 42 yards from the ground. Field dressed 180 lbs. Here is a picture of him.

And a picture of him showing the entrance hole, a 100 gr thunderhead. He was quartering to me. The arrow went all the way through the opposite shoulder and stuck in the ground.
