Early bird

Must have if I killed him that easy.

Flew down at 6:15 and stepped in the field at 6:20. Every hen was still in the trees I think. He never answered a call but I only hit him with 2 series of soft yelps and shut up. He came in a hurry when he hit the ground.

48 yard shot but I don't think he was intending on coming any closer and my set-up wasn't exactly a great one.

Just a dumb 2yr old though.

Pretty confident the closest bird to the camera is this one.

I told a guy yesterday that I was going to sit right where that picture was taken until I shot one of those birds. Guess I can move around now, although there is a huge bird working in there I have pictures of. I'm sure he is one of the 4 in that picture.

I'm going back in the morning but a little farther out a side ridge where two of them have been roosting. If I can get there early enough to sneak in while it's dark.
