Re: Fanning a gobbler(short clip)
Setterman should take his own advice, because his hypocrisy is off the charts. He's assumed as much or more about anyone who responds to his derogatory posts than anyone has assumed about him. Anyone put off by his pompousness must be an idiot, or fat, or a lazy 4-wheeler user, or a road hunter, or a believer in TWRA conspiracy theories, or a liberal. He's said as much. He draws these unsubstantiated conclusions while he accuses others of infantile and presumptuous behavior.
Here's a guy that admits to routinely acting nice in front of people while thinking to himself that they are idiots. He acts as if this kind of insincerity and veiled judgement is some kind of admirable trait. He expresses his enjoyment of interacting with "clueless" people before he comes on tndeer to berate them from behind his keyboard. I think these admissions say something about him.
He should take a look in the mirror and stop pretending that he doesn't care what people here think. I don't think there's anyone on this site who needs their hunting ego stroked more than him. His habitual need to berate others who don't hunt or behave the way he does seems to fuel his self-esteem. He can't help but care about what this board thinks of him. It's obvious from his need to post defensive, attacking rebuttals every time he posts his way into an argument, which he seems to do more often than any other poster on this site. I think he's averaging about one performance a week now.
He could teach a class and call it "how to turkey hunt the right way and post all about it for self-esteem". Maybe he'll get some takers from this forum to join his crusade. He can teach them while thinking to himself what idiots they are, since that's how he rolls.
He and Cowman like to talk about respect. The way they treat some of the hunters on this forum and the way they call others idiots from behind a keyboard doesn't earn my respect. These two guys are similar to the small group of elitist, condescending archery hunters that look down on anyone who hunts deer without a bow. We all know the type. I bow hunt, but some bow hunters are so full of themselves it's pathetic. Imagine someone like Setterman or Cowman flaming away on the Serious Deer Hunting forum during deer season whenever someone shoots a deer over a food plot from a shooting house. It would be no different than how they flame away here on hunters who don't turkey hunt according to their standards.
I've only turkey hunted a few years. I don't use a blind, I've never owned a 4-wheeler, I bought a cheap hen decoy my first year and it collects dust in a storage shed, I've never fanned, I donated all my cheap factory calls and bought a few nice custom ones, I cut my teeth on public land in the hills of Loudon County, and liberals wouldn't approve of my politics. I visit this turkey forum as a casual observer to learn and to read about stories of success and failure, and I don't post much here because I don't have much turkey experience or success stories to post about. I personally think that the value Setterman adds to this forum from his knowledge and experience is significantly negated by the pompous and derogatory attitude that he routinely expresses towards others in this forum.
Of course this is all just my opinion, which Setterman doesn't care about.
