Fighting Updykes vs. Miss. St.

Too bad it wasn't played in MS.

If you're going to be the best, you gotta win wherever the schedule takes you. That's one reason I wasn't a big fan of Fulmer.

So why did Bama lose to Ole Miss in Oxford? Miss. St was undefeated up until Bama.

Can't win them all every year. Well, unless you have FSU's schedule and play one or two games a year, including bowl games.

I agree. I cringe at the thought of the Criminoles going undefeated again and winning back to back championships, and hearing how Rapeis has never lost a game while carrying himself with class and dignity. Luckily, they won't make it out of the playoff the way they struggle every game with weak ACC competition.

But Alabama is so good. Why can't they win them all?

That question reads like a little kid asking if we're there yet.

They're good enough to have a good chunk of college football fans wishing they'd lose every game.

That answer reads like a Bama fan that thinks he actually has something to do with their success on the field.

If Bama were as good as the team and the fans think they are, then they should have beaten Ole Miss. They probably should have played Arkansas a little better too. They should have hung 60 on UT since they are so good and we are so bad. I didn't see any of that happen. Take away Amari Cooper and they've got more than one loss.

If you think that all Alabama fans think that, you'd be wrong. I've seen quite a few say they think this is Saban's worst team since 2009. I can't argue with that. They have the ability to be better than they are, but they don't play like it. No consistency.

Take Cooper away? Take Dobbs away and the vols lose out with Peterman. Winston gone and FSU loses probably four. Sims gone at Bama and they lose three to four. Oregon loses Mariota and they're middle of the pack. I could keep going but I think you get my point.

That won't happen. FSU will get crushed when they play a decent team.

It isn't just Alabama fans who think they are a good team. The AP Voters, think they are at least the #2 team in the Nation, voters in the Coaches Poll think they are the #2 team in the Naiton, the voters in the ESPN Power Rankings poll think they are the #1 team in the Naiton and the bettors in Vegas think Alabama is the #1 team in the Nation.

You and a couple more people may not agree, but you are in the minority.

Oh and we will see what the Playoff Committee thinks of Alabama tomorrow. They had them #5 before they beat the #1 team in the Naiton.

Their opinion is really the only one that matters.

I'm surprised that Bama beat the #1 team. I'm sure, I read on here somewhere that Bama didn't play that well their first game against WV and was going to lose 3 games this season. Is that still the case.... :D

So Miss.St has lost to one loss Bama team. Bama has lost to a two loss Ole Miss team. Miss St beat 3 ranked teams in a row to get to the #1 spot. Bama has beat 2 of the same teams Miss St beat. The last team being Ole Miss that has already beat Bama.

If Miss St beats Ole Miss, how does Bama rank ahead of them, even if Bama beats Auburn?

Cause Alabama beat Miss St head to head???????

Bama will have to beat Auburn for the head to head but what if Bama wins against Auburn and Miss St beats Ole Miss? Bama beats LSU, aTm, and Auburn. Same as Miss St. But then Miss St beats Ole Miss, the team that gave Bama their only loss.

This playoff deal is total BS imo. More confusing than it ought to be. Why not have a playoff like the NFL and be done with it. Other than the committee being smaller, I see no difference from the BCS.

Ole Miss isn't the Ole Miss that played Alabama. Treadwell isn't on the field. If Oregon can get a mulligan with offensive linemen hurt, seems reasonable to give Ole Miss the same mulligan in some form with their most explosive player out.

Also, look at MSU's out of conference schedule. It's pathetic. While West Virginia isn't a world beater, they beat Baylor and lost to Alabama.

It isn't that complicated at this point as nobody knows how it will turn out. There's still two games left for everyone and a conference title game for two teams. Let it play out and don't get caught up in the media driven speculation.

There are probably about 7 maybe 8 teams that still have legitimate chances of getting into the playoff barring total chaos in the current top 5.

Alabama Oregon Mississippi State Florida State Baylor TCU maybe Ohio State

That's what I'm hoping:

Alabama loses to Auburn
Oregon loses champ game to whoever
Mississippi State loses the Egg Bowl
Florida State loses to FL
Baylor loses to Kansas State
TCU loses to Texas
Ohio State loses Big 10 champ game
