Final 12 prediction.

If SMU gets in, strength of schedule means NOTHING!!
The question is how much does SoS count? There is way too much subjectivity involved. If these teams lose badly then they are just warm up games for the best teams.
I can see that the parody in college basketball playoffs doesn't translate equally to college football, but I still like the "lesser" teams having their chance to play.

Totally agree , same can be said for Indiana, Clemson ,Boise State, Arizona State and others that are getting in. Teams need to leave for the Big 12 , ACC ,Mountain West, play independent and such. Play bad opponents and get rewarded. Lol, hopefully the Vols get one of the " everyone deserves a seat at the table" teams. Is what it is but some of these teams would be hard pressed to go 6-6 in the SEC. Vols are in, all that matters! 😂

Highest 4 ranked champions.

1. Oregon
2. UGA
3. Boise.
4 . Arizona state.

5-12 field.

5. Texas
6. Penn state.
7. Noter Dame.
8. Ohio state.
9. Tennessee
10. Indiana.
11.Clemson
12. SMU

First round games.
SMU @ Texas.
Clemson @ Penn state.
Indiana @ Noter Dame
Tennessee @ Ohio state.
I like this except I think Penn State will fall below Ohio State. OSU won at Penn State, lost by one-point at Oregon, and have a win over Indiana. Penn State's one big win is at home over Illinois.

Even Saban said it, that no coaches or teams can complain bc they all controlled their own destiny and had the chance to make it in, but just failed, at one point or another, to do so .
Absolutely. If Alabama didn't get blown out by Oklahoma they would be in the playoffs.
Saban made several good points.

It is, but so is losing 3 games, two against bad teams.
How many games you think SMU would have lost in the SEC? Indiana? Clemson - ranked 16 but won a weak conference - lost both SEC games they played,( lost by 31 to Georgia), Boise State? Arizona State? I want the 12 best teams not the teams who are in weak conferences and had easy schedules. Not just speaking for Bama ( not a fan) Ole Miss and South Carolina would hammer these teams also . Is what it is and hopefully they will tweak the system. The bracket with Boise is not good!!!

I've always felt the critical part is making sure the best teams are in the playoff. This has happened most of the time in years past but with some question marks along the way. Going to 12 teams ensures this will happen (eight would do it without the play-in games). Whichever teams are the actual best teams (maybe 3 to 4 teams are the best and roughly the same) I have no doubt they are in the playoff.
