I killed opening morning, but since then my turkey hunting has been stone cold. The crappy weather has had alot to do with it. I waited untill 9:00am to even leave the house, since there was about a 3 hour break in the rain. I caught him out strutting and gobbling in the middle of a field. Luckily there was a drainage ditch and tree line that allowed me to slip in close and hit him with a few yelps. Shot him farther away than I would have liked to, but his body language told me that he didn't like not being able to see the hen he was looking for. This is the first bird I have ever killed out of a field.

Very nice gobbler, congrats. How did you get the tail to stay fanned out?

I have a rectangular piece of cardboard against the fan, and I leaned my backpack against it.
