Fort Campbell guys!!!

Nope, that's just from the original post. One is enough right now. :)

Wish I was in a tree. Hopefully I can make it out this afternoon.

Scared me for a second.Thought maybe my wife had one while i was gone.
2 days hunting and i need to go to work and get some rest.

Too warm, to many acorns, and to many persimmons apples.

Hunters are gonna have to go where no other hunters are willing to go. Hunters are also gonna have to go to spots they've never been, and where other hunters have never been.

The deer on Ft. Campbell know where hunters go and they avoid those places. If you put yourself somewhere no other hunter has been. You'll more than likely see more deer than you have ever seen on Ft. Campbell. Also, where you park plays a big role. If the deer can see your vehicle. They know whats up, and they'll avoid the area..

Whats it hurt to go just a little further into the bush to find out?

I agree with the parking, but there only so many places to park for those areas...and many times they are all pushing the deer from one direction...I think the biggest thing so far this year is like you said, the persimmons/acorns mixed with the hunting pressure and temps makes for deer that dont want to or have to move very far.

Also I have hunted many of those areas that "no other hunters want to go to" and have never really seen more deer there as opposed to other places... hard to figure it out and also not to overthink it.

So your saying the only place to find deer are the impact areas :)

Right on.

If your a big buck at the camp. Are you going walking around in the woods?Heck no.Your dug in deep in one of those grown up fields.

If I were a big buck on Ft. Campbell, my butt would be in the above mentioned, hiding from all the monsters running around the place!

BTW, Mr. Bro, Fricken love the sig., man.

Anybody hunting this evening? I am in area 20. Haven't seen nothing yet. I think lots of deer killed here is because of hunter pressure. Hunters walk around and push deer to others. Just like the big deer killed in Dec each year small game hunters push out of the thickets and into hunters laps across road.

Point proven...lol just went for a bike ride and saw a large 8 or 10 pt walking lazily through a " unhuntable area " The deer are there in those areas but they are not dumb and the odds are stacked due to some of the restrictions... good luck to y'all
I believe that I am done for the year...(work)

Must have been a slow weekend at the camp.
Not much activity here.
If i had known i was going to get rained out tonight i would like to be in area 5 today.

Anybody see anything?

Deer movement was very slow this weekend. I finally made it out on Sat evening after work. Area 08A, set up behind the landing strip between the corn field in 09A and a big ol thick field with a cedar thicket on the other side. Only saw 2 deer. 1 was about 1/2 mile away eating acorns in a thin tree line, the other came out just before shooting time ended, he came in walking through the overgrown field heading to the corn field in 09A. He was a small buck couldn't really see how many points. I eased back out without disturbing anything. It was good to get out though!

So far this year Ive seen Turkey,Skunk,Coyote,Bobcat,Fox,Racoon,Quail,Snakes,Squirrels,Hog.

Sooner or later I should run across a deer in one of the areas.
