Fort Campbell guys!!!

Getting ready to pcs to campbell next year. Have a couple of questions. Do they let you scout around the area before the season starts? And since I am in the military will I have a better chance at getting and area?

You can scout for deer when areas are open for hiking or small game hunting, some of the best areas are never open for either.

Yes active duty military get first pick. Thanks for your service
 
Hello everyone. I got unit 26 for Saturday and I have only been to the fort one time. Can anyone tell me anything about that unit?
 
26 is a giant pine thicket with logging roads cut through it and across the back side. It does open up in the middle, in a few places. I really can't tell you a good kill area in there, I guess look at Google earth and find an area inside the thick stuff. I have seen a monster in there.
 
Never hunted 26.

I got in 50 for tomorrow and Saturday. It's not been open much this year. Figured it was worth a couple days hunting. Never hunted it.

I haven't been hunting all that much this year but but went this morning. I seen 4 small bucks walking around nose to the ground, just wondering sort of. Had 4 does around me eating acorn for about 10 minutes then a small 8 point came crashing in and they all tore off. That was it from 600am to 930am. Very fresh scrapes everywhere. I would say it is just starting and the next 2 weeks should be awsome.

I am just your average hunter so that's just my 2 cents.
 
Wow! Could not believe it.My first call at 10:35Am was answered.Got area 44a for sunday.Have to work saturday night so cannt pick up my area permit till sunday am.
 
19 point killed out of area 42 today! very nice deer,freaky rack but nice.i got a pic on my cell hopefully the guy that killed it is on this site and will post it.
 
Figures....and I can't get in the bow areas I want. I've never had a problem getting in 04 until this year. What happened to 01 and ab03?

Guess I'll be in a tree in ky listening to guns. I'm taking both in the morning.

I heard they checked a lot of deer into day...I'm really miss hunting there I'm just laying around bored to death ..

Yeah do that.They usually want to see my permit.Sure would help.I could get in early.
