Freshman Of the Year.

Barnett has hauled some awards for a freshman. Some wont agree, but Hurd is just as physical and maybe a little more so than Leonard Fournette. I think his athleticism is right there with Fournette and Chubb. He wouldhave been taking home an award or two if he had an Oline that could run block.

Yep,offensive line killed Hurd,he is a great RB for sure.Hopeing the offensive line is better next year so Hurd can get over a 1000 yards!!

I disagree because Hurd runs to upright. Will be hard to keep him healthy and on the field during his career. He has already had one shoulder surgery and bang them up again this year and missed some time. His running style is hard on the body. Fournette and Chubbs run with good pad level and both know how to finish a run on the 2nd level.

Here's a great example and I'm no LSU or GA fAN... :smash:

Imagine that. You dont agree.

Todd Gurley had an arm injury and then tore his ACL. Sony Michel went out in the TN game with a shoulder injury. Was it because of their running style? They don't run like Hurd, yet they got injured. Football is physical and injuries happen. You have said this yourself. Thats the price you pay for being a RB in the SEC.

As far as his shoulder injury goes. Both Worley and North have went out due to torn labrums. Neither are running backs. Again, its physical. Injuries happen.

The facts are Hurd had 777 rushing yards, 997 all purpose yards behind an offensive line that gave up 30+ sacks this year, as a freshman.

.

The other backs had betters stats and avg..... Chubbs avg, 6.9 YPC, Fournette 5.1 YPC, and Hurd 4.5 YPC. Both had more yards and better stats. Seems pretty simple.

It is pretty simple. Hurd went out early Florida game, didnt play much at all against Chatt and left early in the Vandy game. Chubb and Fournette both had the good fortune of not getting injured this year. I would think that probably hurt his stats a little. He was also not running behind a Ga or LSU oline all year either.

I was waiting for the "O" line post, part of football and he picked his team. I pointed out before Hurd every played his first game at UT that if he didn't work on his pad level and stop running so upright that it would be tough for him to make it a complete season because of those things and when you factor in his height.

He did indeed pick his team probably knowing the offensive line was going to be new and possibly not good. He missed the best part of three games and still had almost 800 yards rushing behind that offensive line. Almost 1000 including his receiving yards which oh by the way involves running after the catch.

If you fall and break your leg tomorrow, which I hope you dont BTW, are you going to blame it on your walking style?

Leonard Fornette really got my attention this year. I believe for a freshman back that theres not a more impressive physical player out there right now. He's got a bright future. Not saying Hurd doesn't if he can stay healthy, but he's not the back that Leonard is.

His stats still fall short of the other two and Chubbs had over 1,200 rushing alone. Even if my walking style is not correct, I.m not doing it chased by SEC LBs........ :bash:

Football involeves running I dont care what position you play and every player on the field is not the ideal running back size. All players are vulnerable to injury.

Nick Chubb is a freak of nature. He has filled in for Gurley nicely. I never said Hurd was better than either one. I said Hurd has comparible athletisism to Chubb and comparible physicality to Fournette. You dont like Hurd because he plays for TN therefore everything about him is wrong.

Before the LSU and A&M game, Hurd was ahead of Fournette in rushing yards. Hurd played part of one quarter of his last game.

And because you said it makes it fact?

Ummm... Maybe because I'm 6'3" and had to carry the ball after the catch in H.S. and college. If you don't get your pads down in college it doesn't feel good..... I also stayed at a Holiday Inn,,,,,

Were you a receiver or a back? Im assuming receiver since you said running after the catch. There are 6-3 players all over high school and college football fields. Do 6-3 players not playing running back just not get hit as hard?

Ok, so in that thread you said pretty much everything you've said here?

Pretty much but we weren't comparing him to Chubbs or Fournette back then but he did get banged up and have to sit out several times this past season. Almost looks like I knew what I was talking about.... :bore:
