Don't we have this same thread almost every year?

Only the ones where its 70 degrees in February ;) !
Sometimes there are 70 degree days in February. Sometimes it snows in March. It's all part of living in Tennessee. I guess we have to have some topic to discuss. This one is just a retread year after year.

I guess I'm in the minority again. I love it before green up but I'll take it either way.
I think your property is similar to mine. Lots of pines. When the green up starts it gets thick and my birds move off to the pastures and fields around me. With the exception of my hardwoods it's thick enough to move on a bird anytime.

The absolute worst opening day I ever experienced
came with one of the most beautiful big snows I've ever seen in Tennessee.
I don't remember the exact year, but I'm positive the date was April 1st for the opener that year.
Sometime back in the 90's.

It came this big snow during the night, and was a winter wonderland when the sun rose.
Was beautiful,
but no turkeys heard, seen, not even a track.
By all appearances, they stayed roosted, maybe for most the day.
Can only imagine how easily they could see a hunter moving from a mile away.

Nail on the head. I swear the week before juvi I think I could call em in banging two
Rocks together. Lol.

Doesn't look like much green up around here yet. Looks to actually be a bit behind the few years I've been here.
