Got up and started working early this morning and being busy haven't got to hunt a whole lot with travel. We are needing some meat in the freezer and had to wait until the wife and daughter were stirring. The last couple of years the deer have ate my garden up so felt like it was fitting to take one in it. I grabbed the 30-30 and put her down where she stood, eating in my garden. There were at least 30 does in my yard and I picked the biggest one. I'm running out of time to get meat and I hate shooting one off the porch but decided too.

Good job. If you had over 30 does in your yard in east tn you just did the environment a favor and need to take the maximum allowed along with a few friends! Only place I've seen close to 30 deer around here are Staley grain and non-hunted TVA properties and that's on a couple hundred acres spread out.

We've had as many as 11 in our back field here at home.

I couldn't imagine having 30- they would definitely clean out a garden.
