Went to set in on a spot I have this morning and got in just the right time. When the owls started hooting the gobblers fired up. At 7 on the dot the hens fired up. I never hit a call. Then at 715 a small flock of about 10 hens flew down then they hadn't been on the ground in no time and a Jake flew down seconds later 4 longbeards. They didn't gobble again. They just strutted inside 40yrds with the hens til about 9 and they just eased on. Hope it plays out like that next week. I did hear them gobble on the hillside once more as I was walking out. Heard 2 other gobblers fire off in the distance at daylight also.
