I've always thought it funny how the toms show off and relentlessly follow the hens around early on...while the hens couldn't care less. You'd think being ignored/rejected for days/weeks on end they'd get the picture.

I had just left my house today and was 2-3 miles down the road when I came upon this field. Not the best video in the world but if you pause it then zoom in at the beginning you can see a strutter. First I've seen this year and got my blood moving and heart rate up. Had a car not been coming behind me I'd have stopped and got better video. There's more behind the trees I didn't get and am guessing 40-50 birds.

Figured I'd add some spice to this thread. 😊 My screen capture below is poor quality, but the video was legit. He was getting after it.

IMPOSSIBLE! Alabama had to move their public land seasons back to April 1 because we were killing them before they were being bred and disrupting the gobbler hierarchy!!!
