I have been checking each day the harvest report for my home County of Clay and the kill on bucks is 2 to 3 bucks killed each day.Do any of you check the report for your County each day.Just wondering if your counties are still seeing some bucks killed each day.Clay county has a small kill compared to counties that border Clay! Most of the hunters I know say they are passing young bucks,so this might account for the smaller buck kill compared to other counties.Fentress and Pickett counties have smaller buck kills than Clay!

I use to check it often. However, I found that it only frustrated me especially when there were multiple days that I could not make it out to hunt. I only hunt public land.

With the good mast crop this year hopefully that will translate to some healthy older age class bucks next year…
One of my favorite places to hunt was completely unhuntable this year due to a failed soybean crop that results in 5-7ft briars in the entire field. You can't see a thing from the blinds and it is unpickable.

The farmer is still battling it out with someone to figure out what to do but figure we can at least bushhog it in the spring/summer.

So the other guys (and myself) that hunt the property weren't able to hunt it even once this year.

Very optimistic for next year for many reasons, among the reason you listed.

I really only watch daily during the short bear season we have. Pickett is a very small county. Fentress is pretty big. When I was a teen we would always go hunt Clay around the lake because there were so many more deer there than what we were used to at home.

Since the gun season opened on Nov 20 until today.there have been 66,000 bucks killed and 22,000 does killed.I have not compared this years kill to last year's kill
