I like the tac 22 subsonic HP...and Eley's subsonic HP. There are others that shoot a little better, but these are pretty dang good. And the HP is better for squirrel noggins. I was getting a lot of ricochets with the regular tac 22.That Norma went fast and I need more TAC22 and want to try their Match ammo. Aside from that I'll be on the prowl for a few different varieties of proven good ammo in the coming weeks.
No...not off their noggins. But if I miss...or even a pass through, if it(bullet) then hit a limb, I could hear them bouncing all around the woods.Ricochets off squirrel noggins? Must be some hard headed squirrels up there, could be something in the water.
I've squirrel hunted for most of my 57 years. Never have I noticed ricochets like I had with tac 22...and SK standard+ as well.Ricochets off squirrel noggins? Must be some hard headed squirrels up there, could be something in the water.
I have a few boxes of various makers that I have hollow pointed with my Waltz die that I'm anxious to use on squirrelsI don't have that problem with the SS HPs.
Feels safer to me.
If you decide you no longer need that die, I want it.I have a few boxes of various makers that I have hollow pointed with my Waltz die that I'm anxious to use on squirrels
I think it found it's forever home.If you decide you no longer need that die, I want it.
They're still being made and for a good bit less than I paid for my sorta special set. Mine has 3 different profiling inserts as well as 2 sizing dies and was about $100 more than the regular setup. If you decide you no longer need that die, I want it.
