Major flooding going on here got me thinking....

How long after the rain quits does it usually take for the water to clear enough for the fish to start biting again?
I seem to manage to be on the water when its so dirty you can't tell where the water ends and the land begins, or its so clear you could read a newspaper on the bottom.
Needless to say I don't catch many fish. :bash: :rotf:

The creek that runs through my place is always a good indicator of how the water color of the Caney is. It spilled its banks yesterday and flooded my fields in the front. It rises quick but also drops quick. It will stay yoo-hoo colored for at least 3 days.

I don't normally fish much in the fall / winter.
However, in the spring, when we get a big rain like this I have had VERY good luck fishing areas that aren't normally under water catching big bream and shellcracker.

Probably worthless information but there ya go. :D
