Never on opening day but my first two birds I killed opening weekend.... Second day of season

I have a few times, but normally I have to screw up three or four opportunities before I can close the deal. : )

killed eight straight at one stretch on opening day, and have killed several more on opening day, however, I spent much time pattering the birds, and was hunting some really good farms with very little pressure.

I got one last year opening day 11 1/2 inch beard 1 1/2 spurs and 25 pd. My best bird ever

Worked birds but never killed on opening day. Most gobblers are henned up and its only jakes you can call in. At least thats been my experience.

Since 1962 I've killed several on opening day,but that doesn't mean you'll have a successful season-just a good start!

I killed one on opening day last year. He was with 3 others. Killed 2 more through the season and the last one on the last day of the season. Kind of cool I thought.
