Ok say you shoot at 35 yards or so.
Wasn't quite 40 yards.

How many pellets would be like amazingly good to have in a ten inch circle?

Something just don't sound right to me.

About how many actual pellets are in a 4,5 and 7 shot nitro shell ?

Thanks REN, that makes me feel some better.
I have a pattern that honestly I wasn't going to post about because I would get called a liar.

If I get my point of impact fixed I will be very happy.

at 35yds with nitros i could see 350's easy with the right set up.

244 is as high as i have ever gotten out of a shell choke combo but then again i have not tried a ton of combos. I have a combo i am prob going with sat that is in the 200 range at 40yds.

the last target I shot today with my 835 off the lead sled was centered pretty good,,with a Hastings .675 choke using WW HV 2 ounce 6 shot I counted 188 in the 10 inch circle at lazered 40 yards,,

I tried to mark them with a pencil,,and it was on newspaper,,not to mention I broke my glasses,,I should have put a plus or minus 25 disclaimer on that,LOL

My nitros was shooting about 6" high this year also, had to adjust the rear sight just a hair now ole tommy three toes is in trouble! :D

Again, the pattern is 5 or 6 inches higher than my point of aim.
Little left too but I figure that is me.

the combo I shoot has never let me down inside 50 yards,,how much do these Nitro shells cost and how far are they 100% reliable??

I am a poor white boy

The Nitros are expensive, they kill at both ends and they are sometimes hard to acquire. With that said, I shoot the 3.5" H517T (first shot is Nitro followed by Hevi Blend) and they are the most devastating thing I have ever seen on a turkey (with 3.5" Hevi Blend a close second). Last year I shot an old bird at 20 yards (I know it is close) but it literally looked like someone put a grenade in the turkeys mouth and pulled the plug at the instance the shot hit it's head. I wish I had that shot on video for others to see.

They are about $7.50 a shell for the 3.5". If you only hunt in TN, that is $30 a year (assuming no misses) and you tag out. I know they are expensive but when a turkey hunter adds up all of his expenses (lease, gas, food, license, etc), $30-50 is usually one of the cheaper expenses of the season.

we work like dogs to make ends meet around here,,hunt my own land and cant even afford gas to go to a lease, if I could afford to be on one..if it wasnt for the 1,000 $$ property taxes I might could afford a license.

I will stick to what has worked for me for the past 10 + years,,if I can get within 45 yards ,,they are in the fryer..
