How would you kill this bird?

Thanks guys. I got 2 days to hunt before I go to Missouri for a six day hunt. I'm running out of time!
if you don't get him in the next 2 days, then I'll go over and limb launch him while you're gone!

I'll be looking for flying pigs when someone like you shoots one off the limb. But if you get that close, he might fly down and land in range. I really hope you get him

Even if I was a limb lifter this bird never gobbles til after daylight. And such a formidable adversary deserves a fair fight. So far this morning he's a no show and I haven't heard a peep.

Apparently I'm the worst turkey hunter ever. He whooped me again this morning. But I can't quit because he's the only bird on our place or even in hearing distance that's gobbling. Our place is void of birds this year. Barely any tracks and only one vocal gobbler. This morning I set up on his field and he gobbled 100 yards away. I stayed put (mistake). Knew he was coming to the field. When he hit the ground I started answering his gobbles with gobbles. He starts getting closer. He got to maybe 50 yards behind me in the woods but I couldn't see him. Next thing I know it's over. Sat there two hours after his last gobble and he never shows. I know about where he's roosting every night. I'm going back this afternoon to bushwhack him on his way to roost. I've had it!

I wonder if he's pushed the other birds off your place? Did he see you this morning?

The gobble thing works real well sometimes, but other times they get weird as they get close.

Have you tried getting really aggressive with the hen calling?

Hope to see his carcass soon

I don't think so. We have 700 acres and we aren't even hearing birds on adjoining properties. They've just vanished. Lots of nesting hens on the place but we haven't seen any jakes and only heard a couple longbeards.

I'm 100% sure he did not see me.

Probably not really aggressive. But aggressive.

I have to work Sunday through Wednesday, then I leave for Missouri Thursday morning, so I won't get to hunt him for a while. My son is going to hunt him next weekend while I'm in MO. Maybe he'll have better luck than I have.

Bet he kills him, sometimes a different perspective is the ticket it seems.

Some of these dang turkeys are just impossible to kill, I know I have dueled with plenty over the years that at the end of the season you just tip your hat to them as they get the better of you.

I agree 100%. A fresh perspective can make a world of difference.

I had to tip my hat last year. I'm still amazed I've been trying to kill this same bird for 1 and a half seasons. I can get so close. If it wasn't happening to me I think it would be humorous!

A big ugly bird with a head the size of your fist is getting to your head ...

You're in the right place though, most of us here can relate. I might be getting a bit of a thing against one particular bird too.

You're right Cat. He's in my head. Has me over thinking and second guessing.

I had a season wrecker I named Nemesis several years ago.

I know how they can possess your ever-waking thought.

Part of me hopes your son pulls it off, but the other part hopes you get to write the final chapter.
