if you don't get him in the next 2 days, then I'll go over and limb launch him while you're gone!Spurhunter":1d3urrb3 said:Thanks guys. I got 2 days to hunt before I go to Missouri for a six day hunt. I'm running out of time!
Even if I was a limb lifter this bird never gobbles til after daylight. And such a formidable adversary deserves a fair fight. So far this morning he's a no show and I haven't heard a peep.catman529":15yehf3n said:I'll be looking for flying pigs when someone like you shoots one off the limb. But if you get that close, he might fly down and land in range. I really hope you get him

I agree X1000! [emoji3]TheRealSpurhunter":clmr08ms said:He needs to die, that's all there is to it.
Spurhunter":2z73qgzj said:Apparently I'm the worst turkey hunter ever. He whooped me again this morning. But I can't quit because he's the only bird on our place or even in hearing distance that's gobbling. Our place is void of birds this year. Barely any tracks and only one vocal gobbler. This morning I set up on his field and he gobbled 100 yards away. I stayed put (mistake). Knew he was coming to the field. When he hit the ground I started answering his gobbles with gobbles. He starts getting closer. He got to maybe 50 yards behind me in the woods but I couldn't see him. Next thing I know it's over. Sat there two hours after his last gobble and he never shows. I know about where he's roosting every night. I'm going back this afternoon to bushwhack him on his way to roost. I've had it!

Bet he kills him, sometimes a different perspective is the ticket it seems.Spurhunter":2ipwbwtm said:Setterman":2ipwbwtm said:Hope to see his carcass soon
I have to work Sunday through Wednesday, then I leave for Missouri Thursday morning, so I won't get to hunt him for a while. My son is going to hunt him next weekend while I'm in MO. Maybe he'll have better luck than I have.
I agree 100%. A fresh perspective can make a world of difference.Setterman":93ivg5yq said:Bet he kills him, sometimes a different perspective is the ticket it seems.Spurhunter":93ivg5yq said:Setterman":93ivg5yq said:Hope to see his carcass soon

Some of these dang turkeys are just impossible to kill, I know I have dueled with plenty over the years that at the end of the season you just tip your hat to them as they get the better of you.
You're right Cat. He's in my head. Has me over thinking and second guessing.catman529":f3lfngvp said:A big ugly bird with a head the size of your fist is getting to your head ...
You're in the right place though, most of us here can relate. I might be getting a bit of a thing against one particular bird too.
