Apparently I'm the worst turkey hunter ever. He whooped me again this morning. But I can't quit because he's the only bird on our place or even in hearing distance that's gobbling. Our place is void of birds this year. Barely any tracks and only one vocal gobbler. This morning I set up on his field and he gobbled 100 yards away. I stayed put (mistake). Knew he was coming to the field. When he hit the ground I started answering his gobbles with gobbles. He starts getting closer. He got to maybe 50 yards behind me in the woods but I couldn't see him. Next thing I know it's over. Sat there two hours after his last gobble and he never shows. I know about where he's roosting every night. I'm going back this afternoon to bushwhack him on his way to roost. I've had it!
