Hunting Opportunity's Decreasing Nation Wide

Hunting is getting insane on costs. I know of 200 acres in an East TN county that was recently leased by 3 guys from Knoxville for $30,000 per year. Just insane. I don't see it getting better.

That's crazy. If it ever gets to that being the only option, I'll quit hunting, fish more, and spend way less than that to buy a fully processed cow from a local farmer every year. That takes care of the red meat we need but I still get to kill stuff via fishing.

I am surprised that more hunting and fishing communities have not been developed. They just make sense to me.

I would love to live in one...it would be just like living at the country club with HOA rules with plenty of land.

Around Norris lake the out of stater's are getting more numerous and buying up everything, public docks are getting transformed into social clubs for the wealthy, reckon golf ain't the only Clubs the rich desire.

We were slowly reverting back to "the kings deer" days but social media influencers have exponentially sped this up.
Everything about hunting and the outdoors is so money driven now that "influencers" and companies are using dirty tactics to promote the industry.

I've seen fully guided cow elk hunts knocking on $5k (not including the tag and logistics). It's a different world now and I hate it.

The demand is through the roof, recruiting more hunters the new age way just stresses the system and feeds the beast. I wish it didn't but it does, money talks.

As for WY increasing app fees, it will not do a dang thing for demand. It will just generate more income for the state and make it more stressful for the hunter that isn't fiscally blessed.

Just remember the next time your favorite public hunting spot is jammed packed with hunters….Joe Rogan and Cam Haynes said "find another trail head stupid".

My grandparents had an amazing cabin there for years. I loved spending weekends over there and riding around and fishing. I never took advantage of the hunting side of it but it's a beautiful place.

But but but hunters are on the decline and the numbers need to be raised anyway possible, I can't tell you how many times I have read this but have been unable to see it, somewhere somebody can see enough enfo and stats to reliably say what's going on. Most of us can't see past our county or less, I refuse to repeat much without some hard info. Theories can be fun on the other hand 🤣

Let's pretend that hunter numbers are on the decline for conversation sake.

You know what else is on the decline, and we can provide all the tangible proof necessary, accessible land to hunt on.

Using logic, why would these groups be recruiting more hunters? Easy answer, money.

Joe Rogan hunts ranches that most of us can't even afford to look at from the side of the road, let alone step foot on. I like him but he's terrible for hunting.

I made a post a while back breaking down some of the most recent USFWS data that proves hunter numbers are not declining and are not aging out. Both are absolute lies told by people who stand to profit off hunter recruitment.

The best thing I've ever done 😎
We might be joining you. I've got half a mind to move back to TN, half to move out West. Can't decide yet.

We've visited Colorado twice and fell in love with it but I'd never move to such a liberal dump of a state. Now, Wyoming, that sounds nice.

No state income tax will save me a lot of money as a self employed man.

I have hunted ad Dunaway several times. It is an incredible place. A buddy of mine ran it for years.

Vehicle registration and property taxes are stupid expensive here. If I survive the cold blast coming this weekend I'll let ya know what I think about the winters🥶

As miserable as that looks, I hate that less than I hate sweating my nuts off most of deer season, most of turkey season, and having a summer full of 90+ degree days with 60% humidity.
