After searching forums and reading reviews for the last month I decided to order a Bob Lee T/D recurve 58# 62". This will be my first real hunting bow, I have a 1970's 40# bear Kodiak that I got to learn and to make sure I was going to be dedicated to traditional archery. I was'nt comfortable hunting with a 40# bow so decided to go ahead with the Bob Lee.

Congrats, but that's a HUGE step up in draw weight. Everybody's different and it may be great for you, but I'd recommend about a 50# bow and even that's a pretty big step up from 40. Have you had a chance to shoot any recurves that heavy?

Yeah my brother shoots a 60# and I shoot his about as much as I shoot my 40# when shooting the 40 it almost feels like a toy and I think thats part of the reason why I'm not that comfortable taking a shot at a deer with it, I don't feel "over-bowed with the 60 so I should be ok.

Sounds lie a sweet bow, probably cant go wrong with a Bob Lee, they've been around quite a while.

pics ???
