I don't hunt close to home and it's 2 hours to get there so you can bet your backside I'm getting up when I'm there. That said it's about the camaraderie and hanging out with friends and family not the kill.

I have it made as far as comfort goes. The blind is roomy and I can just stretch out, however bow season sucks in it. I can't sit very long or very still in the stands anymore, where hunting would be somewhat more productive during early season. I have to pick and choose between effort vs reward. I have psoriatic arthritis and a couple of herniated disc's so I only hunt the very best days that I think would have best opportunities.I

There are times my gout bothers me terribly but I still hunt because I'll be hurting equally in my chair at home or in the woods.

This. While you can't kill them from the couch. You can make them unkillable.That said, I've killed enough over the years that I try to hunt smarter and not harder. Some days, it's just proper to roll back over and appreciate a warm bed and my wife.
