I shot the first deer I saw: New Mexico Mule Deer

The crazy part is that we backtracked his tracks through the snow and it appeared he had been bedded in the same valley I had been glassing the day before.

Either I'm not very good with a spotting scope or these animal are pretty slick.

6.5 creedmoor. Y'all take it easy on me.

I saved one of my checked luggage for an ice chest, and I used my brother's rifle. It was a savage Apex with a custom bull barrel. A bit heavy as a mountain rifle but hard to complain :)
6.5 Creedmoor is my primary rifle. It has 1,930 rounds on the barrel. Excellent cartridge for hunting and long range. I shoot at 600-1000 yards all the time with my 6.5 and its amazing how well it bucks the wind. Good choice for muleys.
