Of all you turkey slayers lol (but im happy for each and every one of you!) i just cant seem to make it happen. always has been like that though, I called up a gobbler yesterday that came in quiet and he got about 60 yards away and doesnt see a hen and just slips off the ridge like he was never even there. I love to turkey hunt more than anything especially if i could get on some of these eager 2 year olds that supposedly "come running" lol. Oh well it beats setting on the couch :) Keep the kill pics coming guys maybe The good lord will bless me where i can add another beard to my collection before the season ends.

You'll get one keep at it... if he can see you then dont call or he'll pinpoint the location and see there's no hen... best of luck

dude i know what you mean, i hate even checking this board until i get a kill hahahahahahah

I tend to put WAY to much pressure on myself to make something happen, however once i get the 1st under my belt i tend to do much better going forward as i dont put near the pressure on myself to produce.

My goal each year is to kill 1 bird after that the rest is icing on the cake in my book.

I have similar thinking too. Got the pressure off my chest this morning. Now I can enjoy hunting the rest of the season without worrying about getting skunked. I do hope to kill another bird or two just because the meat never lasts long enough.

Hang in there man, enough time in the woods and you will get rewarded.

Do you have a decoy? Hunting in fields or edges it helps to have a visual.... In woods where the undergrowth can be thicker and green isn't as important, because when he gets close, he will be in your lap.

I know the feeling man. It's seems like when it comes to me and turkey hunting Murphy's Law is right there with me every step of the way. It's been that way ever since I started. I know I am not that bad of a turkey hunter lol. I love turkey hunting most of the time but I sure can get discouraged sometimes when it seems like most everything is working against me and I can't do anything right.

You should come down and hunt with Tommy & Me....

I have dekes and had good intentions of setting one up the morning i called the one up, I get off work at 7 and after the 30 min drive home and the rush to get in the woods, I just left the house and forgot all about it. Im going to give him a couple days to forget about the dissapearing hen and set up in a different position, with a decoy and see if i can call his non gobbling butt back in. Then im going to plow his butt with the browning 10 gauge, then just for spite.......... IM GONNA EAT HIM HAHAHAHA (EVIL LAUGH) :) :) :)

I wish I would have had someone to hunt with when I first started that knew what they were doing. I think I would be a lot better at it lol. Me and my buddy just kinda had to learn on our own as we went.
