Just when I thought these birds were still going good I went this morning and heard a grand total of 4 birds 1 way up on top the mt with no way to get to it one back off and two in the middle about my level but only gobbled once. After Thursday I thought things were heating up! So very frustraiting I guess thats why they call hunting not killing!

There are still going good, they were crazy the yesterday all over East Tn from reports I got firsthand, as well as buddies who were out. Today was a rest day, which is very common. Tomorrow should be crazy again.

If it is any consolation, I went to a place this morning where I know there are a dozen or more birds, who knocked the woods down on Tuesday morning. We heard one bird gobble one time.

The places I've been hunting (about 11 hunts since opening day) I've only heard turkeys gobble AT ALL on 3 of those trips, one being yesterday. The rest have been dry, 4-6 hour hunts. It's been slow for me all season. They were gobbling like crazy in the 2-4 weeks leading up to season though. :D

They are just now getting to gobbling good on a place I hunt under the mtn. Its been that way for the past several years there, up that whole valley. Not much gobbling til Mid-May into June. Called 2 up for my gf there this morning and she missed. But then 5 miles away, still under the mountain, they have pretty much quit lol

My son and I went yesterday morning with a friend trying to get his son his first. Heard 3 birds gobbling in different directions but didn't come in. One kept on gobbling every time I called but would budge so we eventually crawled up on him and there were 3 strutters. Not sure if it was the 3 gobbling and they grouped back up or what but they had a couple of hens with them. Fortunately the boy was able to ease up a dirt mound and bust one of them.
