This is basically as big as I kill them which is just fine with me
. Cool palmation on one side though, so that's different rack-wise. Quite early, and then I heard a few shots ring out around 700-715 and figured deer must be moving. Heard this guy on the other side of some thicker stuff and turned and saw him walking my way. He came straight at me and had an oak tree right between us so just kept my gun up waiting to see which side he went on. By the time he came on the right side he was 10 yards away and still coming straight at me, so I stopped him. He looked right up at me but it was too late for him as I shot him in the heart through his neck. Ran/stumbled maybe 15 yards and died, an easy 30 yard drag downhill to my trail where I picked him up with the tractor. Best shot I've ever made for not ruining much of the meat. I've never taken a shot at a deer facing me, but at 10 yards I was confident he would be toast.
