If the fine folks at TWRA and the commission aren't jerked awake by this staggering news then nothing will get them to wake up and realize their "management plan" is an abysmal failure.
KY has only been open for 3 weeks, 2 bird limit and about 70% the hunters we have in this state.
It doesn't take a rocket doctor to see their hunters have vastly more birds to hunt then we do, and I'd say it's a direct result of a sensible management plan rather than the liberal bag limits and bizarre aporoach used here.
In addition KY hunters have killed 50% less jakes then TN hunters. That just proves the large number of tags leads to higher jake harvest.
The question is how much longer can our "biologists" ignore the issues and our hunters keep their heads in the sand.
It's time for us to revert back to a 2 bird limit, no hens period, and only one jake. Those alone should hopefully start reversing this ugly trend we've been on for years now. If that doesn't work, more extreme regs should be implemented
It's sad to see what used to be some if the best Eastern hunting in the country continually slip, it's time to stand up and protect the birds we all love to hunt. If we don't our hunting will continue to decline
