Setterman chill out take your meds..or maybe you have took to many man leave our young hunters alone ..hold your tongue be a little more patient.
Your opinion is not that important, whats important is these young kids enjoy their hunting experience. And carry on for the next generation to enjoy.
He made a good 40 yard shot ,killed a nice bird .I for one am proud of him. :)

I guess at 42 Im immune to the gore, all I saw was a happy hunter and a dead turkey going to the fryer. Congrats on the kill!

X2. Geesh. Just say congrats next time Setterman or move on to the nickelodeon forums. Congrats Dawson. Proud of you.

Congrats on the bird. Feel free to show the damage anytime. Some posts should really chap my back side. Before season there is many people that pattern their loads to get the tightest patterns possible in order to achieve the quickest kill possible. Looks like u did just that. No difference in people showing what broad heads do on their animal. Geez some people. :bash:

X2! Congrats! I'm still trying to get my first gobbler, I shot a hen during deer archery season a couple years ago.

Bring on the Gore. You know why? Because most of the time, a gore pic is an ethical kill. If you jelly head a Tom then you know you aren't going to be walking far. Good Shot. Good Kill. Pretty bird.

Not young and not old here - but I don't mind at all these type of photos. It actually goes a long way (especially yardage of the shot) to help determine the type of equipment to use in the future. It definitely shows how tight the pattern is at this distance with these shells.

Good job! It certainly isn't very beautiful when you have to chase one around and stomp his head to mush to get him to quit flopping, but maybe that is respecting nature. lol

Again, take ones head completely off if given the chance, I certainly will. But I don't glorify it, or celebrate it. It's great to get ethical kills and heads get crushed at times.

Why feel the need to post the gore shots?
Why even take a picture of that?
Is that the memory you want of a really cool critter?

I have a deep respect for turkeys and no respect at all for those who disrespect them with tasteless pics.

After chasing these things for 30+ years, I have more respect for these birds than anyone on here.

The pic doesn't bother me at all horns :tu: !

Setterman, you have to be the biggest internet tool of all time. For the last two years you have pounded your chest on bird hunting ethics etc. The guy killed a bird, he mangled its head and he was happy so he posted a pic, instead of lecturing him why not congratulate him.

You ruin this forum.

I don't give a crap if he killed it with a fan a decoy or whatever. He killed it, he's going to eat it and he will kill another.

What's your problem?

Oh, and by the way. Don't lecture me on bird ethics or younger generation hunting etc, I really don't care.

Waiting on your response internet tough guy.

Reread my very first post.

The very first thing I did was congratulate the young man on his kill. In hindsight, I wish I had separated my opinions from thus thread and started its own, as I've said already I love the grinning pics with a dead bird, but the mangled head shots bother me as I've stated.

Sorry we have different views, that's life grow up and deal with it.

Forgive me but I go to the woods to kill a Turkey not take in the majesty of the colors or whatever. The end game for me is kill the bird, take its meat and put it on my grill. I guess I am uneducated redneck according to the great setterman. But, at the end
Of the day I eat Turkey meat on multiple occasions during the spring and it serves me well, whether I blow his head off or have to beat his head against a tree. Dead is dead no matter how you get there.

I think he posted the pic to show how good the shells are, therefore the pic was necessary. I'm sure more pictures were taken, but the memory of that turkey is probably watching it fry on a stove or bake in an oven. Oh yeah, and the memory of slicing him up to get him ready to eat. I had much rather see pics of a dead animal in any condition than pics of wounded animals on trail cams destined to die.
