Longbeard XR destroys opening weekend bird

I read your forum and again I am sorry. but, I would much rather carry one over my shoulder than watch one strut or hear him gobble or marvel in his colors etc. If I wanted pictures I would bring my camera, i want him dead and doing the frying pan shuffle so I bring my 835.

Me as well, I've never carried a camera unless I was helping someone out after I was done. You are failing to understand, I'm out there to kill, period, and I've killed truckloads full of them.

Again, we are after the same thing, we just choose to celebrate and burn to memory different aspects of the hunt. I want to remember the hunt, the day, the bird, not a mangled pile of meat. And I've mangled dozens in my time chasing them.

Gotcha, I burn to the memory with a Coors light and a gurkha cigar though. Again, to each their own. Dead is a dead no matter how you get there. End game is eating the bird to me. Spurs, beards and fans are cool but the enjoyment of watching my daughter's eat the breast meat is much sweeter to me.

Pour it on em!

It's funny reading these threads and listening to people brag about all the birds they have killed. The guys I know that really work them over good, never tell or brag about it. Matter of fact, some of them you would never know they even hunt, and you certainly won't ever catch them wearing camo during season..... Just saying...

 Thanks for all the real hunters on this forum that congrats my kid on a fine bird and lets not forget what it was like to be 16yr old and make a great shot on some type of game whatever we was hunting.I seldom post pics now but when I was his age I thought I had to take a pic at every angle. And ya the gore pic was basically just to show what type pattern this gun and shell held at that distance.Don't take away the feeling of being a kid because bottom line I'm not a kid no more but when I loose the feeling of getting excited or being proud of any animal I take it'll be time to hang it up .He is 16 and just wanted to show off his bird "No i didn't scan his pics and say son you can't post that one " Bottom line is his dad was very proud of him on a fine bird and a great shot!

It was a mistake on my part singling out this picture, and I apologize for that, it was a significant judgement lapse on my behalf. I should've started a new topic to voice my opinions.

I was and still am sincere in my congratulations for him on a fine bird.

And you should be. Those that are getting their panties in a wad about a pic should keep quiet. We hunt these birds to eat em. We can't eat em if we don't kill em. I am glad he posted it, one so we can all see that the Longbeard xr load is clearly a devastating load and two because he has every right to. I have said congrats to your son once but I will say it again. Congrats young fella, and please post pics of the next one you kill too. If it ruffles feathers who cares, they can choose not to look or go somewhere else, this is a forum for all members not a select few with certain feelings.

So you don't think it's appropriate for people to post pictures and talk about being proud of killing turkeys on a website with a forum designated to killing turkeys? What am I missing?

I never said that...... I'm guessing I went way over your head. I apologize.

So what are you saying? Seeing as how it went over my head, I would be honored to have you educate me to the true meaning of your statement. Speak in very simple terms so I can understand. Thanks.

Come on Spurhunter, those one sentence responses proved your knowledge on the last thread we were involved in. Do you really want to make this personal? I don't have a lot of patience for men who act like boys. But then again, not knowing you, you could be a kid.

I don't have a lot of patience for obama supporters, so I guess we're even.

For one, I don't support Obama. I didn't vote for the guy and never would. But just like in that thread, when someone hits you with common sense you resort to being offensive because you have nothing of substance to add to the conversation. Feel free to attack me, but know that I get a good laugh out of your ignorance.

Fox, you seem like an intelligent guy I don't think I need to spell it out for you. Maybe you should re-read the entire thread.
If you still have trouble then I'm sorry and I will leave it at that!!!

You might not have voted for him (I doubt it) but you were defending the hell out of him. That's the same as support. So, is it only me that's ignorant or all the others that were bashing your liberal ideology ignorant too?

Easy on the drinks there buddy! It's a week night! :tu:

I am going to show some intelligence and tact and stop arguing with you. It is obvious you aren't worth the time.

I read the entire thread and am not trying to be condescending. I just want to know what is wrong with a guy posting a picture of a dead turkey on a forum designated to killing turkeys? His post was educational and provided information about a shotgun shell that put down a bird in a more ethical way than having to run and stomp it's head. What does a group of guys that never appear to hunt, but are lethal assassins have to do with it? If you make a statement, be prepared to explain yourself. Why is it so bad for me to ask that of you?

I think the picture demonstrated what the shells could do...therefore informative.

Nice picture of a hunted bird.....I've only shot two, so I am enthusiastic when someone gets one.

I get Setterman's idea, though he might have come off as a little curmudgeonly....he apologized and gave a hearty congratulations to the fine young man.

Now it's time to jellyhead this thread....
