give us a report!!!!

Here is a report I wrote on the Mathews forum.

First let me say this bow is sooooooo nice looking. It's a work of art up close. Everyone that came in the shop was drawn to it.

Here we go. I went into the shop and nobody was up front so I headed to the back to the range. Before I rounded the corner I heard a bow being shot..VERY QUIET..( I said PLEASE let that be the monster that is that quiet! ) it was. I picked up the Reezen 6.5 and shot it about 5 or 6 times before picking up the monster so i would get a better feel since it's been awhile since i picked up the reezen and shot it...After shooting the Reezen I got the Monster and started drawing...VERY nice draw. There is a hump before the let off. Anyone not expecting one is asking for the impossible. It's very close to what you feel in the Reezen maybe just a TAD, and I mean a TAD more. Not bad at all! Holds very well, and after the shot it's really really quiet and I noticed no vibratation. Not once with alittle creep did the Monster try to take off. I would draw it slow like in a treestand and it was fine. I also let it down and it was very controlled. It didn't try to rip your arm off at all! That's nice to know with a bow with that much energy.
Here's something that was VERY VERY surprising..My dealer sat the centershot and nock height and when we were back there shooting he said let's see what it will do on paper... He picked up a 400 spine carbon express, and my first thought was it wasn't going to happen.. that was his thought also since the reezens he has tuned at the same draw and weight liked a stiffer spine....but the monster shot a PREFECT bullet hole at 3 yards and 9 yards with a 400 spine arrow! (29dl at 69lb) Form will come into play of course but it was a prefect hole.. I was shocked to say the least.
The draw length is right on also. To say I was impressed is not saying enough...I expected alot and the guys and girls at Mathews didn't disappoint at all!

yawn.........This stupid crap is why I don't even care to post here half the time...
it's just a joke. geez lighten up. ;)

I know it was just a joke..then another joke will follow then 10 more...then the whole purpose of the topic is ruined.

Same thing goes for when a guy post something about Bowtech or any other brand also... People should stop ruining those topics, and should stop worrying about trying to prove their brand if the best, or another brand isn't and just shoot... I don't care if a guy shoots a bow that doesn't even have a name...as long as he is shooting and having a good time. I know the joke was harmless...just everytime a brand is brought up around here it turns into "my brand is better than yours"...which is the just plain stupid and immature.

I agree Ricky. It happens all the time, and not only on this board. It's an epidemic on all message boards related to archery.

I agree 100%

There's the typical response I was waiting for. :tired:

No reason to cry here...believe me I'm a big boy. :)

WOW, Now that's a sweet looking rig! I bet it shoots like a dream, actually I know it will or Mathews wouldn't put it on the market.
I do have a huge "WHAT IS THIS WORLD COMING TO?" I mean of all the companies to bring back a 2 cam?!!! Then there are out of business archery shops owners becoming "basement bandits". That were cursed and maligned through years of hatred towards business stealers.
I'm just to the point that if someone told me that Obama and Limbaugh were going on vacation together I would not be surprised anymore.
I can't wait to get my hands on the monster though. Thanks for the heads up.

What is the brace height on that bow?

6"

ooh that's skimping on the brace height, thats where they got the extra speed. I'd still like to pull their dual cam to see how the draw cycle compares to the bowtech binary cams. Bowtech's binary cams can be tough to pull at 70#.

Don't let the dual cams scare you off. It is SMOOTH!

With speed there is always a compromise , either from a short brace height or harsh draw cycle.
I'll be testing my first speed bow this year. I might drop the draw weight to compensate for the harsher draw cycle . Brace height on this bow is 7" , with the IBO right there with the "Monster".
I like the cam technology that Mathews has with the Monster , but I do not care for 6" brace height . Shoot what works for you , regardless of the logo on the limbs . Promote archery and bowhunting , not the bow you are shooting.
