Mathews X coming mid May

Add a 6x lense to your one pin sight and you would be blown away at how much easier shots out to 70-80 yards are!

Yeah and just how crappy everything will look in that lens in low light. Good gosh hunting with a 6x lens would be a nightmare IMO.

What clarifier are you going to need for that shot at dusk with a 6X lens? Please let me have a hit of whatever you're smokin' before you put it out cause that is some Cheech and Chong grade stuff!

I think I am gonna have to get a divorce. My wife just informed me that she wants to go test drive the Mathews Chill SDX. lol

She has shot the Elite Spirit several times now and if she was buying a bow today, that would be it. But she was looking up bows and found the listing for the new Chill SDX and saw it is available in 40# limbs so now she wants to go try one out.

I bet that went over like a fart in a space suit :) I'm curious to see that bow as well. I actually called my bow guy today to see what he had to say about the new offerings. I'm not buying a new bow this season because I really like what I've got but I still like to check out the new stuff.

Naw I dont care what she gets. She asks me all the time about what I think she needs to get and my answer is always the same...I cant pick the bow for you. Only you can know what you like and what you shoot best with. I can offer suggestions but ultimately it comes down to what she likes best. I really liked the Mathews Jewel she had. I used it to shoot 2nd in the ASA State championship in 2012 with it still setup for her and 2 inches too short for me. She currently has a Strother Hope and shoots it well. She was in 2nd at the Tuscaloosa ASA shoot earlier this yr and let nerves get her. But she's got the itch to try something different now. Most of the ladies locally are shooting the Chill or ChillR but my wife can only pull 38-40 lbs so thus the SDX got her eye. She can actually pull 50 lbs on the Spirit because it draws so easy and that really excited her. And if she podium finishes in an ASA, Elite pays good contingency for her class...$1,000 for first, $500 for second, and $250 for third. I honestly think she will struggle with the Elite grip but I'm gonna let her decide what she wants. She didn't say a word about me buying all the bows I've bought other than "you work...buy whatever you want".

I'm not on anyone's side, but you guys do know that long range bow kills ( much further than 80 at times) out west are normal.. lol.. I have killed a few deer between 55 to 60 yards..Complete pass thru on all 3.. conditions must be right for the shot though ( unaware animal, clear lanes...etc).. you guys never practice long range? It really helps your short range accuracy..
I practice out to 60 yards , but that's the farthest I can shoot on my target range . As far as bowhunting shots go , I go by the famous Bowhunters quote : "archery is seeing how far you can hit the bullseye . Bowhunting is seeing how close you can get to it "
I hunt mostly wooded properties , although I do hunt some fields as well , but I try to place stands in bottleneck areas that funnel deer movement within 40 yards or less .
