How old it too old? Talking about spools kept out of sunlight and kept dry. I'm guessing 2005 and 2008 manufacturing dates are beyond being trustworthy.? I know 15 years is older than I care to try using, but what is typical guidance? Tried searching the web with various answers. Some say 2-3yr and some say closer to 10...

Well, I did a pull test last night, and it seemed to snap easier than thought it would. Wasnt scientific about it, but just decided to toss it and buy new. No major loss, but I was surprised I couldn't find conclusive info.

berkley says 3 years for nylon and 8 years for flouro, max, if properly stored. if its kept in a frig or in a cool dry basement then you will get a few more years. bill dance says you can rejuvenate dried out nylon by putting in boiling water but ive never tried that and supposed to get rid of line memory.
