I've got a 2004 Johnson 15hp and the last time I put it in the water, after about 4 or 5 miles up the Hatchie, I got a loud clattering from the lower unit. Almost sounds like something slapping against the housing. At a fast idle in gear it seems to run fine but once you put it under a load the clattering starts.
I realize it could be anything from the linkage to the gears but thought I would ask the pros on here on where to start. Any help would be appreciated.
