Congrats! Welcome to my world (hunting cow pastures with little cover). Makes for a fun hunt. I did the same thing as you 12 or 13 years ago on a big ole bird, and the darn thing saw me laying prone in the field and must have thought I was another turkey, cause he ran from 75 yards straight to me. I shot him at 15 yards

Oh, the episode you experienced was a combo of hypoglycemia and lactic acidosis. Had that many a time chasing down crippled birds on foot. Not fun at all. Same thing kids at football practice get when they push 'em too hard and end up puking.
