Thanks all. and REN and Wingnut, I appreciate it. Wingnut, I should be around there sometime this week. I'll be scouting the WMA 15 mins down the road so I can head over to chapel hill whenever works for you and/or Burd. Again I apprecaite it very much. I think you all definitely have a point that I need to be confident with the shot so I don't mess it up on a bird.

Sounds good man. Just let me know. I work in Pulaski so it takes me a little while to get home but just let me know. I can make it a point to head out a little early. The Win. Supremes are good loads. We can shoot em and check out what works best.

Try you some federal with flight control wad and see how they work with your set up. They typically do real good with chokes that are not ported. Maybe look into a recoil pad for that shoulder also. After you get use to 20,.. back out to 30. Knowing your gun before you enter the woods is very important,.. your on the right track. Don't take shots your gun can't make,.. and good luck!!

Catman- before you use your shotgun to kill a burd...you must first kill one with a Buck 110.

You can do it...'Young Skywalker'

deerchaser, my choke is ported if I am right...has the holes in it. XX full can't remember the exact name but it's definitely a turkey choke.

ported is not really the issue, some ported chokes are fine to shoot Federals through...its the ported chokes that are designed to slow the wad down that are not good to use with federals.

if you know the choke name and manufacture you can find out if that is part of its design.

Catman...May the force and a sharp knife be with you.

Yep! I shot the federals last year out of a gobble stopper and the wads would hit the target at 40 yards.

REN is correct,.. i didn't want to go into detail and confuse you about the differences of the chokes that slow the wad and those that don't. Federals are worth a try if your gun and choke like them,.. i used them for years before i upgraded to a jellyhead with winchester extended range,.. and the federals shot the best pattern out to 40 yards with my old set up. My brother still uses federal in his set up,.. and gets really good patterns.
