I finally pulled the trigger on a new trolling motor. I also removed my previous mounts for my bow graphs and redid those to lower them down and make everything a little sleeker.

I spent a lot more time rigging everything than I expected, but I'm happy with the end result. I've only had it on the water for a couple hours, but I really like the trolling motor so far.

... and yes, I need to clean my screens!

Nice looks good, let us know how you like the power pole move.I know some of the early moves people had alot of electronic interference on there units from them.I haven't heard anything in awhile so they probably got it fixed.

Noticed you have a brace on your mega 360 shaft. I just got a 360 that I'm installing and I was wondering if I should have one. Mine is going on a minn kota ultrex quest. Read you don't need one unless you are in a lot of ruff water, but?

The steering board in the original models wasn't grounded. This caused the interference. Mine has terrible interference with the 360. I called PowerPole. They asked for my serial number, and confirmed mine has the old model steering board. They're sending me the grounded one which should resolve the issue. I'll post an update after I get it. (it's an easy swap)

I ran 360 on an Ultrex about 3 years ago without the brace. It vibrated a lot without it when running around the lake or driving down the road, but that was the mount designed by Humminbird.

I had a mount with the stabilizing brace on my Ghost (from BassFishin Electronics). I don't know if it made a difference, but I felt better about it.

This mount (from Hydrilla Gear) came with the brace so I used it.

I know you do all your research. What sold you on this one vs. the Quest or something else?

I wanted to get rid of my Ghost, so my choices were Ultrex Quest, Garmin Force, or PowerPole Move.

I've only used a Force once for a minute or two. It seemed nice, and I probably would have liked it. It's been out for a while, and I was afraid Garmin may have something new come to market in a year or two and kill the value if I wanted to upgrade.

I've used the Ultrex Quest a short bit also. Everyone I know who has one loves it. However... the steering is just too noisy to me. I feel like Minn Kota had a chance to make an awesome trolling motor when they created the brushless Quest, but they dropped the ball by not quietening down the steering. It's also really heavy - ridiculously heavy.

Ultrex Quest: 81-83lbs
Ghost: 67lbs
Move: 57lbs

With the noise and extra weight, I saw no benefit of the Ultrex Quest.

I'm not knocking the Quest. It's probably a very solid motor. I wanted something quieter and lighter.

Here is a video where they measured the sound of the Quest vs an older model Ultrex. I don't put a ton of stock into the sound of the prop spinning. It'd sound different when under water. However, the sound of the head turning supported my original thoughts when I tested it in person.

Thank you for the info!

Can't compare my quest with a regular ultrex cause I had an edge. My quest is day and night quieter then my edge. My quest set at Ten is quieter then the edge set a 3. Plus my edge couldn't go half the speed of the quest. On 10 I cruise along at over 5 mph. The lift assist is life saver for old f like me. I can't tell you how many times I've almost fallen out of the boat trying to lift my trolling motor up. The only thing I do not like about the quest, is my dog keeps turning off the spot lock on the foot pedal and I sometimes don't notice it until I'm way away from where I wanted to be.
