Next coach at UT.

Looks like it's Pruitt, I like the hire after This huge dumpster fire I don't think it's bad at all.

Wish he would go ahead & come to Knoxville the staying at bama for another 3 possibly 4 weeks is a little annoying, he has more then enough stuff to do in Knoxville at his head coaching gig over those 3-4 weeks. O well can't complain to much & I understand.

Dang it, I'd like ONE year where we weren't breaking in a new coordinator. Hey.....maybe that's the new strategy to bring down Saban -- keep him off balance by hiring his coordinators away :-?

That is like cutting the mooring strings to the Hot air balloon in an attempt to make it fall.

I like the Pruit hire. With the right staff I think he can turn things around. I mean some of the pieces are already in place as far as talent. The talent just needs to be developed into a solid college football player.

We definitely needed someone who will toughen the team. Butch's demise, as well as Dooley's, was the line of scrimmage. We either didn't have the players, or when we finally got some there were injuries or they didn't develop. Pruitt should definitely help there.

The offensive side will probably be on the stale side, but we'll just have to see.

And maybe we can get in on the deer antler spray and PEDs. GA seemed to benefit :D .

As far as his coaching in the playoffs, I think Smart did the same thing when he went to GA, so I guess you can do both. I don't fault him for wanting to do it.

Heard Freeze may be OC...

I hope that hire happens. Will be easy for teams to negative recruit TN

SOURCES Jimmy Haslam and Raja Jubran, who were in NYC during interviews, favored Mel Tucker over Jeremy Pruitt for the Tennessee job. Phillip Fulmer bucked their advice and offered the Alabama DC the job first

Bold move by Fulmer to buck the system again and take who he wanted.

Being the VFL he is, Tennesseean by birth, played, coached and is now the AD at TN, and also having a passionate hatred for Alabama football, he has really stepped out of his comfort zone with this hire. I believe he believes Pruitt can get it done. The Vols need a hard nosed, disciplined, physical team. Something that has been lacking for a long time. They also need an ace recruiter and a top developer of talent. I myself, dont really like Jeremy Pruitt because of his personality and attitude, along with him being a dyed in the wool bammer, but Fulmer thinks he can get it done and I believe that his personality and attitude are what this team needs, therefore I will support his hiring.

Given the circumstances of this search, I believe this will be a good hire. Just my opinion of course.

Well 3 of the 4 coaches in the NC all have ALABAMA NC rings. Y'all should be trilled with this hire . It's huge !!

I think Saban is going to have to get use to this two or three year rotation on assistant coaches .

When your running one of the highest winning percent programs in NCAA football your obviously tapping the top talent out there to be at your side . Those guys are always looking for HC positions . I think this will be the norm for years to come at ALABAMA
