Nine Points or Better Hunt

I just looked at the harvest report for last year. Looks like 15 total deer were killed last year (3 antlered, 2 non-antlered, 10 does). So far this year 7 total deer (4 antlered, 3 does). I can't believe folks in the area aren't aware of this WMA. It'll be interesting to see if this post really makes a difference. Let's check back after this 7-day hunt.

If the MS river gets too high the twra will close certain wmas along the river. You might want to call first.
Not a concern with low to mid-bank stages we have this weekend. Caruthersville gage will be around 20', and Memphis 14'.

Unless it's changed in last few years, this is proclamation language:

"In accordance with Proclamation 16-45, the Mississippi River stage is above 34 feet (34.0) at the Caruthersville, Mo. gauge, closing all big game hunting immediately in the Mississippi River Floodwaters Zone and will remain closed until the Mississippi River stage falls to 32 feet at the Memphis gauge."

sounds good! you want me to scoop you on the way in the am? Do you know where we can launch the boat?

Yes, folks "in the area" are very aware and have been.
Absolutely Andy S. The pressure on the Mississippi and Obion River WMA's in West TN is increasing every year. Especially from out of state hunters. Most of the local hunters in this area are seasoned hunters and mature whitetail deer are still hard to kill. And it did look like a UT Vols game Saturday morning. There were people riding their ATV right down the middle of the food plot TWRA planted at daybreak

Driving right down the middle of the food plots. That's the only problem with public land. The idiots also are hunting it. But it's all I got anymore to hunt.

I'm petty sometimes, I'd have the mind to slip back over to the parking lot and deflate both of his atv trailer tires.

Let me guess, he's got a disability so driving over everything is acceptable. Yeah he's an idiot.
