not worth it to me when the cheaper shells perform just as well with the right choke shell combo 8 dollars a shot are you kidding me.

I don't think so! They're higher because they perform much better than "cheaper shells". As far as the price, I couldn't justify spending that much for shells if I were dove hunting, but 2 or 3 shells are the most I've ever shot in turkey season.
