Who will be there? I thought I would start a thread for check-in, stories, photos, etc.

Need a place to stay? The area hotels are booked and you got to have a camping permit for LBL. I just booked the last 8 person cabin at Piney Campground for Friday and Saturday nights. It has 3 full beds and two twin bunks. It has outside water and is near the warm shower house in Sycamore sites. You bring your own linens/pillow or a sleeping bag. It has a fire pit with cooking grate and wood for sale on site. I have ear plugs for any snorers...and a gag.:)

If interested, shoot me a PM. Piney campground map:

I drew AREA 13. I've never been there. If anyone has some advice or spots, I am not above using your intel! I may bring a mountain bike. My Mazda crossover does not like some of their roads.

General LBL hunting and past kill info on this page:

Tip:
Download your Area for Huntstand or OnX before coming. I had some LTE verizon service on KY side last week on ridge tops near lake. I have no idea about coverage.

Wrangler campground horse stables was taking reservations for 45 minute and 90 minute trail rides last week. I took kids on a 90 minute ride and we really enjoyed it. Nice calm horses and easy trail for those interested. I had not been on a horse in at least 20 years.

I'm really looking forward to the public land hunt! Hopefully weather will hold and we can have some great action!

LBL buck kill:

Also, I'm going to offer a Black Friday special on my basic classic crown mounts to include return shipping. If interested, you could bring your rack here and will have it returned in time to enjoy for Christmas.

Is that your video?

If so, cool vid and great buck!

Here's to a repeat!

I would think you guys are hitting that hunt about right! Good luck to all that got drawn

strange year for LBL. Been bow hunting since the 10th out here. Deer activity is no different than a week in October here. All sign has been made several weeks ago. Trees are holding on to leaves longer this year out here. Usually see several bucks cruising everyday.

Just saw this monster on Facebook. If only my kids could have taken this joker on juvenile. Guy had a history with it by the looks of the sheds.

Maybe one of us will get his cousin!
I'm glad I got a spot this year because everyone will be applying for quotas and headed up for archery next year. LBL could not have asked for better free advertising with those pics!

You may be right this year as it has been an odd year. Usually this hunt would have been this past weekend (Fri-Sat). They messed up and moved it to opening weekend of gun.

It has been a strange year here too. Big bucks showed up early and were with does in late Oct. Normally the hunt would have been this past weekend. I have been on it a few times and have seen bucks chasing, but opted out this year with the date change, and the fact my wife's birthday is Nov. 19th. I hope they put it back to the correct weekend next year (was told they would) and I will put in for it. I have a point, so we'll see.
