Ain't got a pond. Water hole for cows about 500 yards away. A creek you can jump across about a mile away. A bird bath in the back yard where these were. They must have fished some place out and were migrating.

As Sawampbadger said,they will clean out the fish in a pond,I've seen 2 or 3 ran over here in my neighborhood!!
