Heya folks, my wife and son are hunting this weekend in AEDC. Can you share any processors in the area that I can call to see if they will hang the deer for the weekend or any other suggestions. We live 3 hours away but we process our own deer. Normally, I drive to them when they get a deer and bring it home but that wont work well this hunt.

We will be staying in a hotel so, realistically, nowhere to keep the deer cool for the weekend.

I believe there's a processor in Decherd or Winchester but can't recall the name. Might do a search. There's also Potts in Wartrace a little further away. They're pretty good. Not sure about your request. Would just have to ask and see.

I'd think you'd be hard pressed to convince a processor to give up cooler space on muzzleloader opener unless you open that wallet pretty wide.

Why not break it down into quarters/debone the rest and ice it in a cooler?

Hahaha! I had been so focused on their hunt I forgot it was MZL opener...

You are EXACTLY right, I typically quarter, debone and all but If I could just get one hung in a cooler that would have been nice too. I like to keep options open.

Back when three way processing was open, I called then about just hanging one that my youngest daughter killed. It was warm and late in the evening. They wanted like $50 just to hang it for a couple days, and best as I recall the girl told me it had to be skinned, if not skinned they would have to charge for that too. I just went on and quartered it and put it in the cooler.

Good luck.
