Maybe he has different pricing for different customers. I asked him two times about the price of the plastic. He told me $100 both times.
Not sure how that could be misunderstood!

Sounds like he does I guess. I've never heard or seen anyone buy his plastic pot for $100 but maybe some do.

I first ordered his Twisted Sister call. After getting some input, I changed it to a Crystal Mistress. I suspect I will have both before next season.

I'll try to post a sound file to the Crystal Mistress when I get a chance for those that haven't heard it. The Mistress has a high front end and good rasp on the back. It is a great run n' gun/locator call as it can get very loud. The Twisted Sister has a medium-high front end with much more rasp on the back end. It is more of an old hen that has been married multiple times (if you know what I mean).

I have both and use both, but the Mistress is a call you just don't leave home without!

I also had the Dawkins aluminum call. The call sounded good, but it was very finicky and picky when it came to strikers. In my opinion it is not worth $100. However, the call has a cult-like following and plenty of people will vouch for it. It certainly is an elite call, but just not for me.

I'm sure it has to do with his calls being in high demand this time of year. He is likely running low on stock so he probably bumped the price up.

The plastic pot is $50 the walnut is $100

I just ordered my walnut right before season. He told me 100 for walnut 50 for plastic. Love this call. I roughed it up with a scotchbrite pad and it works great. I cannot locate my crysyal mistress as I fear I have left it laying by a tree somehere. LOL

The Hot Hen is a great slate call from a great guy. His calls won't wow you like some out there, but they are pure turkey. I bought one almost as a keepsake since Mr. Sneed is almost 80 years old and won't be making them much longer...

Matt Mclain in Tennessee Ridge builds a great pot call. Lon Trice (Lonza's Custom Calls) is a top notch callmaker. Both have calls in MPW in Stuttgart Ar. Doug Morgan in Brandon MS is another one I would look at buying.

Got me one this year too. Get you a good tulipwood striker and try it, I think you'll like it.
