Redfish and speckled trout

Been going 100% for 13 days taking care of my Mother-N-Laws house/yard and fishing. Me and a couple high school friends I haven't really hung out with in more than 20 years caught a bunch of redfish and trout this morning. Fished inshore and had a pretty good day, but it was rough.

Too miserably hot to fish the past couple weeks here, but the specks were on fire off the barrier islands before that.

We caught between 140 and 150 specks my last trip out. Unfortunately, only 2 were keepers on that trip! (15in in MS waters). Still had a blast. I may drive down to Dauphin Island this weekend and surf fish toward the west end of the island if conditions look good and the honeydo list isn't long.

If you're going to be hot, no better way to do it, atleast you had a good breeze out there. Always good to reconnect with old buddies, good way to do it. Nice fish!

We ended up with 10 specks the biggest was 3.5 pounds and 4 reds, 1 over slot of 26 inches (you can keep 1) I think he was 29 inches.

THAT makes a tough and dangerous day of fishing..... glad you are back safely and nice fish!!
