I guess old Donald wasn't bs ing when he said they were going to open the gates. The river went up to about 12 ft on the gauge Sunday and then to 13 on Monday. 4-5 ft above the highest point when we were there.

I guess we hit the window of opportunity pretty good. One week earlier and the fishing would have been better though.

Next time!

I'm just curious :tu:
Would you even attempt fishing the White (from your river boat) with the water that high?

Probably not anymore.
I have fished it when it was probably up in 10 ft -12 range and maybe even above it one time in a 15 ft jon boat. Not really good fishing and you have to be on your toes ready to take action. The trout would be holding close to the banks and tough to catch.
