Bulged barrel at the end about 1 1/4"

Anyone know if anything could be done or is this ruined?

I did my encore with a Sawzall and crowned it with an inside the case mouth chamfer tool

Mine had a QLA on the end that was off center and it didn't shoot good

Taped it off, measured, Sawzall, "crown", done

It shoots much better now

I shoot a fixed 4x leupold

3 at 125yds before I cut it

4 at 125yds after I cut it

Junk. I'll pm you my address so I can throw it out for you! 😀 your lucky (unfortunately) they told you the fix above. What caused it? I have no idea about the timeline. Good luck maybe someone can help you out

You can do it yourself. Rent a piloted reamer from reamer rentals. Cut your barrel with a chop saw, bandsaw, Sawzall as squarely as you can. Then use the piloted reamer as shown in the video on the linked page below. It's not hard to do. Get the 11 degree cutter and a .500 pilot with the tool rental.

Not sure on your location, but I use a bicycle tube saw guide when using a hacksaw. If you level everything in a vise, attach the guide and make sure it's level, and go slow, it makes for a pretty dang square cut. I finish with a sanding block with a machinists square. I've only ever done shotgun barrels this way, but it should still work. If you're local to me in Nashville, you're welcome to use the saw guide.
