Heavy barrel. I shot it once to sight it in about 4 years ago. Maybe 10 rounds. It's not sighted in now. I changed scopes around since. It just sits in safe. Time to move it on down the road.

450 without scope and rings

550 with

I think I have 3 boxes of ammo which I will include either way.IMG_20241008_092440042.webpIMG_20241008_092503005.webpIMG_20241008_092427334.webpIMG_20241008_092424684.webpIMG_20241008_092336348.webpIMG_20241008_092333147.webpIMG_20241008_092517320.webp

Do you know the rifling twist rate?
@Seabee I have one exactly like that that I bought around 10 years ago. It has the 26" heavy barrel as well and the twist rate is 1:12. I hand-loaded for it but I never could get bullets over 50 grains to stabilize at long range. Maybe I didn't have a heavy enough charge though because I began at the minimum in the Hornady manual and was working up in 1/10 grain increments. Need to drag that out after deer season and pick the load development back up.

I had a neighbor years ago in Maryville that was into 22-250 and 220 swift. He reloaded. Neither one seemed to like the beginning charges. They seemed to do much better between middle and max.
